Best non-alcoholic summer drink ideas

Full Capacity Living...

Summer...rosé all day some would say!

I had a client who was doing really well with all of his healthy lifestyle changes and was really happy with the results.

But then...he said "I have such a connection with summer weather and the beach (He was from Turkey) and I just can't imagine it without 'rosé all day'.

Yet...he would also say "I really love waking up the next day with energy and feeling really good knowing I didn't drink the night before. My friends were not feeling it and their whole day was wasted"

Now...this doesn't mean you have to completely let go of alcohol but...if you have ever wondered what a "sober curious" life could be like here are some ways to still enjoy a festive drink without the side effects.

  1. Put some effort into making something festive that is non-alcoholic in your wine or drink glass. Adding mint or fresh fruit.
  2. If someone asks you or gives you push back about why you aren't drinking...Own your choice...the more we openly say "I am choosing not to drink because I feel so much better, my sleep is better and I have energy the next day" you empower yourself and you aren't doing it begrudgingly. This is the first way to create new neural pathways to new habits.
  3. Try some of these non alcoholic mixers or drinks, some with adaptogens to chill you out a bit so make sure you read all the ingredients.
    1. A simple hibiscus herb tea, some rose hips, club soda and muddled mint and lime and maybe a splash of maple syrup. Quite delightful and easy!
    2. Seedlip - https://www.seedlipdrinks.com/en-us/
    3. Ritual Zero proof - https://www.ritualzeroproof.com/
    4. Aplos - make sure to get the calm version if you don't want to ramp up your energy! https://www.aplos.world/
    5. Kin Euphorics - has some adaptogens and nootropics so make sure you read all about it before taking the dive. https://www.kineuphorics.com/
    6. Sunwink - lots of fun plant infused drink options for mixers. https://sunwink.com/

Adding simple mix ins like mint or lemon balm (very calming) can enhance even your fizzy water at home. They are super easy to grow (like weeds seriously) and feels like a drink with all the benefits of good sleep to follow.

Would love to know if you try any of these options. Share your comments and fun summer drink photo's!

If this resonates with you and you think someone you know could benefit please share this email.

Together we can make the world a happier, healthier place.

In best health,

Karen

The one where they are still performing, still leading, still executing… but something underneath feels frayed. The edge is sharper. The reactivity is quicker. The healthy habits that used to feel non-negotiable start to slip. Sleep shortens.Workouts become inconsistent.Meditation becomes “I’ll get back to it when...

Kindness and a recipe...

Full Capacity Living... This morning I was sitting nearby while my husband had a virtual appointment about his shoulder pain. I half-listened while doing other things — until I realized he wasn’t just answering questions. He was connecting. He does this so well. He values deeper conversations not just surface news, weather and sports and for that I very much appreciate him. At the end of the call, he paused and told the provider how much he appreciated the time he had taken. He said, “I can...
